The story behind this painting is about two people rowing into the unknown together. We can’t see exactly where the river will take them, and I love that uncertainty. It reminds me of those romantic scenes where the entire world seems to disappear and, for a moment, there are only two people and the water around them. Life doesn’t promise us calm waters or a clear destination, but sometimes having the right person in the boat makes you willing to see where the river goes.
